Identify if your caregiver is intentionally neglecting your needs. You can communicate with them. If they do not communicate back or lack the engagement in the conversation, you should know right there. If you do not see what you are looking for, don't wait for another time to make yourself available to what it is you DO want. Simply express how the dynamic of your relationship does not meet your needs and you are leaving the relationship. Then do so. I spend time with my friends when I am lonely, or family if they are around.

I think I would rather have a group of friends and a positive environment that is healthy for people to be and feel free to express themselves and exist in safety and acceptance. That way more people can benefit, not just myself.

I just joined too and have no idea what I am looking for what even what it is that I like. I know somethings you know, and other things I have known for a long time, but this is all still new to me. I came here cause a friend told me this site exists and I might find people like me here. In my world I have been kept in a strict environment. My mom and dad are both religious and I always went to church with them. Now I am an adult and learning about life and adulting for the first time. I get what it is you want, I think I want that too.
